Mectra Laboratories Inc. was first established in May of 1988. Mectra manufactures a wide variety of laparpscopic disposable surgical instruments both as an OEM (original equipment manufacturer) and direct to hospitals. Our OEM department has been manufacturing, molding, packaging and assembling devices for Richard Wolf Medical, WISAP Medical, Instrumed, Johnson & Johnson, Baxter, Cardinal Health, Maxxim and a wide number of distributors worldwide. We are ISO 9001 Certified and are an FDA audited medical company. We are also a HUB-Zone certified minority owned small business.

Our direct to hospital division ships sterile products directly into O.R.’s and surgery centers. The main administrative office and manufacturing plant is located in Bloomfield, Indiana. Our output production capability is unlimited. The manufacturing/assembly area is over 10,000 square feet and the warehouse is an additional 6,000 square feet. An outside facility of over 150,000 square feet is also available for large production runs. We utilize a wide number of molders located from California to Massachusetts and own all of our molds. We currently have 31 U.S. medical patents. Some of our current products are CO2 patient filter lines, 5mm suction/irrigation probes (S/I), Laser S/I probes, Electro-cautery S/I probes, custom tubing sets for irrigation and/or suction, Mr. Clear anti-fog, pneumoperitoneum needles, trocars, electro lube anti-stick solution and custom packaging/sterilization. Mectra manufactures both plastic/metal goods and liquid dispensing goods for a wide number of clients.

Our Research and Development Department is on the leading edge of technology and develops product not only for Mectra but also for private doctors and other medical companies. The advantage a small company has over large companies is faster response time to our customer’s needs and better customer service. Many of our products are CE Mark certified and we have major Sales Organizations in all of the European countries. We have shipped overseas to countries such as Turkey, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Canada, Korea, England, Germany and the Middle East. Our customer base is solid. We develop products from concept to final production, assemble and package and use an outside sterilization facility. Finished sterile product ship via UPS from our current facility or through distributors. The majority of our products are in the Laparoscopic Field. However, we also have been involved in devices in Cardiovascular, Brain Surgery, MRI, ENT and any other field requested of us.
